Gordon Creswell Art - Art Portfolio

Gordon Creswell (b. 1999) is a Derry/ Belfast-based artist. His work is a celebration

of queer identity, love, and visibility. Through watercolour painting, he captures

intimate moments, tender connections, and powerful scenes drawn from gay cinema

and imagery he finds within LGBTQ+ communities online. These images, whether

romantic, playful, or quietly defiant, reflect the beauty and diversity of queer lives.

Watercolours fluid, expressive nature allows him to explore both vulnerability and

joy- qualities often intertwined in the experience of being gay. By revisiting iconic gay

film scenes and reimagining found images, he aims to create a space where queer

people can see themselves honoured and represented with warmth, dignity, and

affection.
